Hakuba Gibier Workshop
We are pleased to announce the opening of the Hakuba Gibier Workshop, a licensed meat processing facility located on the hotel grounds, which has received official approval from the local health authority.
In recent years, the surrounding area has experienced damage caused by wild animals, including bears damaging buildings and deer and wild boar affecting nearby farmland. In response, the hotel owner personally participates in local wildlife management as a member of the hunters’ association. Game meat from responsibly culled deer and wild boar is carefully processed and served as gibier cuisine at the hotel.
Looking ahead, we are also planning to offer these products for purchase online.
Hakuba’s Natural Spring Water
-
All water used at our hotel comes from underground springs sourced from the Hakuba Three Peaks of the Northern Alps. Drawn from approximately 180 meters below ground after many years underground, it is truly natural mineral water.
Hakuba’s water is nearly neutral, with a pH level of 6.8 to 7.5, and is classified as soft water with a hardness of 40 to 60. Low in impurities and well balanced, it is known for its fine texture and gentle, smooth taste.
At Hakuba Happo-One, serpentinite-rich rock layers naturally filter melted snow as it becomes groundwater. Over time, this natural filtration creates water that is exceptionally clear and mellow in flavor, which is supplied throughout the hotel, including in all guest rooms.
